Humanities for All grants will support locally-initiated public humanities projects responding to the needs and interests of Californians that will encourage participation in public humanities, particularly by new and/or underserved audiences, and promote understanding and empathy among all our state’s peoples in order to cultivate a thriving democracy.

Quick Grants will provide between $1,000 and $5,000 to support small-scale public humanities activities and projects that will take place within a one-year period from the award date. No match is required.

Project Grants will provide between $10,000 and $20,000 to larger public humanities projects of up to two-year duration. Awards must be matched with an equivalent amount of cash or in-kind resources over the life of the project.
