Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Supervises: N/A
Compensation: this is a volunteer position, with the expectation of 10-15 hours per month of commitment.

350 Sacramento is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to assist with day-to-day operations of the organization in collaboration with staff. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing the office, assisting with volunteers, assisting with special projects, and otherwise assisting the staff and board as needed. The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter who is trustworthy and highly detail-oriented. (S)he needs to be able to work well with people of diverse backgrounds, have a solid work ethic and high integrity, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. Must possess strong verbal and written communication, exceptional organizational skills, be flexible to changing circumstances, and have the ability to maintain balance in a fast-paced working environment.

Executive Support
  • Complete a wide variety of administrative tasks for the staff and Board
  • Support with internal and external communications, including phone, email, text, Basecamp, etc.
  • Assist with day to day operations of the organization, as well as special projects like event coordination
  • Assist with filing and communication systems
General and Administration
  • Assist with fundraising and reporting related to volunteer organizing and communications
  • Assist in organizing mass actions or events, when appropriate
  • Assist with rapid response to emerging situations, as necessary

  • Ability to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and expectations of this position
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Very strong written communication skills
  • Highly organized, ability to work on multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and flexibility to adapt
  • Ability to manage an unpredictable workflow and possess the flexibility to respond thoughtfully and quickly
  • Work collaboratively and communicate frequently with staff and other volunteers
  • Must have excellent computer knowledge - Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PowerPoint, and Excel (including charts)
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest, understanding, and commitment to climate action and environmental justice
  • 2+ years of experience writing, managing, and executing external communications in a professional setting
  • Detail oriented, with strong organization and project management skills
  • Ability to plan effectively, meet deadlines, and coordinate others’ involvement within a dynamic and fast-paced setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms
  • Resourceful, flexible, and self-motivated
