Description, Compensation and Benefits:

Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center is a non-profit agency dedicated to helping family caregivers improve their overall well-being throughout the caregiving process.  We are seeking a well-organized professional for the position of Education Coordinator

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation of a direct services program to meet the needs of families and caregivers of cognitively and physically impaired adults within a 13-county service area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Plan, coordinate and host caregiver workshops within 13-county service region, including caregiver education funded by Department of Health Care Services , National Family Caregiver Support Program, Older Americans Act, Title III E funds from local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA).  Travel to/from caregiver training workshops within the 13-county service region, occasionally on weekends and evenings to meet the needs of clientele is required.
  • Prepare and present workshops on related caregiving topics in a variety of venues and audience sizes.
  • Assist with the development of an outreach/awareness program, including attending community information and health fairs, and public speaking in a variety of venues and audience sizes.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, or video) on Del Oro’s social media platforms, which builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.  Collaborate with other key staff (executive director, social media committee, etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions with other community members, organizations, etc.
  • Develop content, edit, and coordinate design/printing of agency newsletter, Pathways.
  • Update agency website, www.deloro.org using a Squarespace platform.
  • Communicate with providers, family members and caregivers, and professionals regarding community services and needs.
This position is full-time non-exempt.  Pay will be based on experience.  Del Oro CRC provides a competitive package of benefits.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, social services, Gerontology or related field.
  • At least one year experience in social service working with older adults, disabled, healthcare or mental health.
  • Thorough understanding of the needs of family caregivers and long-term-care issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
  • Prepare and present workshops on related caregiving topics in a variety of venues and audience sizes.
  • Ability to work independently on concurrent multiple assignments.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center’s mission.
  • Must be available to adjust normal working hours to include occasional evenings and weekends to provide workshops to meet the needs of clientele.
  • Possess valid California Driver’s License, and car insurance per State Law. Willingness and ability to travel within 13-county service area with reliable transportation.
